In 1980, a Canadian humanitarian decided to run across his home country to raise awareness for cancer research. Fox suffered from a case of osteosarcoma so bad his right leg had to be amputated in 1977, so when you think about these shoes as a historical document of that first coast-to-coast charity run, remember that inside one of them was a ‘fake’ foot.
