The Air Max Plus has released in a ton of colorways since it was born in 1998 as the TN, but only in the last year or so did this oft-retroed silhouette finally meet with Nike Sportswear’s penchant for hybrids and upgrades. The Air Max Plus 1.5 made obvious the connection between the original design and the Flywire that debuted in 2008, but pictured above is an example of going in the opposite direction to embrace a technology Nike unveiled a couple years later. The Nike Air Max Plus Fuse shows that those proto-Flywire spines from the Air Max TN are also the perfect places to reinforce so that the rest of the upper can consist of a super-breathable mesh. This advanced synthetic means we’re getting a lighter, cooler ride, and that keeps this intense black and Solar Red colorup viable even for midday runs during the dog days of summer. They’re also quite eye-catching as you’ll see in additional images below, then you can grab a pair for a right bargain from qubetrainer on eBay.
