It’s not often that you see a deadstock pair of Air Jordans taken apart piece by piece. Although it may be tough to swallow at first glance, this crisp new pair of the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ has seen the grim reaper and is now separated from head to toe – upper, insole, midsole, outsole. As you can see, this ‘autopsy’ reveals the major comfort component of the Air Jordan VII – the full-length Air unit that is embedded into the midsole. The Air Jordan VII broke the streak of visible Air Max units in the Air Jordan that spanned Air Jordan III through VI, and since then the ’embedded Air’ has been a staple until Zoom was introduced with the Air Jordan XII. So, what to do with these spare pieces? Form a hybrid, or restore an old pair? Check out the extra bits of this dismantled Air Jordan VII and let us know if you’re going to cop the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ when it drops in a few months. Photos via sole-up
