Since its inception the Nike Free line has always had the goal of emulating the natural motion of the foot front and center. That goal is kept in mind with 2012’s new trio of the Nike Free Run+ 3, the Nike Free 3.0, and the Nike Free 4.0 all of which were designed by Mark Miner. In this quick video series Miner breaks down the the design process a little bit, detailing the difficulties in maintaining the notion of natural motion while introducing the Dynamic Fit technology, what is essentially a constricting mechanism, to the line.
