Primitive proved with their Gourmet Quadici that not only could a Paul Rodriguez-owned shop collaborate with brands outside the Nike, Inc. umbrella, but they could even use a beloved Air Jordan colorway with a sneaker company who’d made its name aping Jays. Their latest is a teamup with Nike SB/P-Rod’s biggest competition, and interestingly enough keeps some of that ‘borrowing’ theme alive thanks to the choice of silhouettes. That’s because the Primitive x Vans OTW Bedford has lines strikingly similar to those on the DVS Torey Pudwill they dropped last November. But instead of a tribute to two of California’s most enduring symbols, these Bedfords choose to be a symbol of top-notch quality with their mix of pig suede, denim and that peanut butter brown leather everyone’s been using for a premium twist this spring.
