Air Jordan 6/7 ‘Gold Medal Pack’

Air Jordan 6/7 ‘Gold Medal Pack’

Air Jordan Vi Vii Gold Medal Pack 1

The Air Jordan ‘Pack’ was a concept first introduced in 2006, but later became a staple of Air Jordan releases largely in part due to the monthly ‘Collezione’ releases of 2008. Followed by the ‘Raging Bull’ in 2009 and the ‘Infrared Pack’ of 2010, it appeared that a two-set of Air Jordans became an annual tradition of sorts, until no such release happened in 2011. So, rumors of an ‘Gold Medal Pack’ for this Summer/Fall was taken with a grain of salt, until solid confirmation was slowly revealed through product catalog scans and so forth, but today we have an actual look at the ‘Gold Medal Pack’ of the Air Jordan VI and Air Jordan VII, slated to hit around the time of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

The Metallic Gold detailing may draw hints to the original Defining Moments Pack of 2006, but this particular concept alludes to two Olympic Moments for Michael Jordan, who wore the Air Jordan VII as part of the ’92 Dream Team, and the Air Jordan VI, worn by Ray Allen in the 2000 Games. The Air Jordan VI featured a tonal black upper with white and gold detailing along the midsole, tongue, inner lining, and Jumpman, while the Air Jordan VI uses a full white upper with golden accents and a red Jumpman. The first look at the Air Jordan VI ‘Gold Medal’ also reveals that the photoshop renderings that have circulation around the net are rather inaccurate. For those well-versed in Air Jordan samples, the Air Jordan VI ‘Gold Medal’ is also very similar to a sample of the Air Jordan VI ‘DMP’, which was produced in a white upper much like these.
