Brands like Saucony and New Balance tend to capture a small sample of the entire sneaker-loving community as their classic runners are admittedly not nearly as popular as those from other brands. Is it a popularity issue, or just a matter of mere exposure? Shoes like the Saucony Master Control and the Grid 9000 aren’t shoes you can find in any random sneaker store, but its recent re-releases with the help of Bodega aren’t exactly meant for the masses; retro runners are the epitome of the ‘niche shoe’, experiencing a ton of praise in the Euro footwear scene, but the U.S. has definitely been coming around over the last few years. Round 5 of the Saucony x Bodega connection includes the Grid 9000, Master Control, and more well-known Jazz ’91, and Premier will have the first two available tomorrow in limited quantities, but you can expect a select number of shoe spots to have these in limited runs as well.
