If we get in the DeLorean and head back fifteen years, back before new collaborations showed up every single day and before you could create your own custom designs in a variety of ways, simply getting the exact kind of colorway you were looking for was much more difficult. Sneaker designers, for the most part, had yet to jump on the bandwagon for neutrally anchored, tonal or otherwise fashion-forward colorups and even icey outsoles were an extreme rarity. Back in those days, the Nike Air Force 1 still reigned supreme for casual purposes, and a run of AF1s was released that still has heads talking to this day. They stood out for their use of ‘jeweled’ Swooshes in lieu of the tradtional sewn-on layer, and we’ll finally be getting some more Air Force 1 Lows like those coming up in 2012. All-grey and all-red colorways with white linings and reflect the shift in casual sensibilites mentioned above, but where do they rank as your 2012 sneaker shopping list comes into focus?
