Hideo Nomo wasn’t the first to do it, but he definitely kicked the door wide open for Japanese players to migrate to the Major Leagues. In his first full season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hideo Nomo established himself as one of best pitchers in the game, using his unorthodox delivery to confuse his opponents. He was near the top in many major categories, was selected as an All-Star, was one of the top vote-getters for the Cy Young award, and was named Rookie of the Year – a solid way to lay a foundation for a lengthy career. Nike recognized his talent early on and created a signature line of kicks for Nomo, which made a return during the Fall of last year. This new Black/Yellow/White colorway of the Nike Air Max NM doesn’t have any bearings in his Major League or Nippon Professional Baseball teams, but it’s certainly one of the better ‘new’ colorways for the Air Max NM that we’ve seen so far!
