Nike Dunk High Los Muertos Customs Summary

While the American holiday of Halloween adopts playful, spooky vibes, the Mexican holiday of El Dia de los Muertos (translated to Day of the Dead) carries a more solemn significance. El Dia de los Muertos goes back thousands of years to indigenous cultures of Mexico; the holiday, which falls on the first two days of November, is reserved for remembrance of ancestors, family, and friends who have passed. One of iconic images of the holiday is the skeleton, represented by catrinas figurines, which was used to detail the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Day Of The Dead’ from late 2006. This new custom job by Dunk-dominator ROM uses ‘Los Muertos’ as its primary focus, combining traditional Mexican details with the iconic images of the Mexican holiday. Using the Nike SB Dunk High in Black/White (colloquially referred to as the ‘Venoms’), ROM transformed an otherwise simple two-toned colorway into one of infinite depth and importance.
