No NBA? No problem. The Miami Heat ‘Big Three’ played unofficial host of the South Florida All-Star Classic Game, which featured two star-studded rosters in one of the most anticipated exhibition games in recent memory. LeBron James laced up in the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Cannon’ – a sneaker that released today at select retailers in Miami; the Cannon, which represents the Heat pre-season training session that took place at a military base, serves as a ‘warm up’ (or pre-heat, if you will) to the Nike LeBron 9 debut in the U.S., and you can certainly consider the South Florida Classic as a warm-up to the upcoming NBA season (if it happens). While this particular event had no bearing on any W/L columns, the participants, which included the Miami Big Three, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook, and more, played hard at both ends of the court, leading up to a thrilling one-point victory for Team Wade.
