Back in early 2009, just months into the reorganization of Nike Sportswear, we started to see a bunch of variations on classics standby silhouettes. This movement led to some interesting results including the Air Max 90 Current, which some mistakenly believed got its name just by being updated with neoprene construction and a Free-soled forefoot. But the images pictured above should make it abundantly clear to you that the Nike Air Current was in fact it’s own distinct design, and one whose angular cutouts can be seen as the bridge between the recently retroed Air Flow and Air Max 90. This model was designed with triathletes in mind who could easily run or bike in them, all while allowing tremendous breathability during the long, sweaty mess; will you be applying their comfy, easy-on design to your daily marathon?
