So much for this one as 2011’s sneaker story of the year. The Nike Mag 2011 is now a mortal lock to top all the year-end lists, its combination of longstanding anticipation, limited numbers, auction-based availability and market valuation unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. But then again, many of those qualities also apply to the first basketball shoe to feature patent leather and carbon fiber, the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’. This is the shoe Michael Jordan wore in 1995-96 when he led the Chicago Bulls to a record 72-wins, and even if it does play the Sonics to Marty McFly’s crown-snatching release, it’d take something stronger than defying the laws of physics to keep these from being the biggest Christmas season sneaker release. Click through to see more angles and if you can’t wait till the Yuletide, grab yours now from Kicks-crew.
