Who doesn’t like a free pair of kicks? Sneaker News began giving back to the loyal Sneaker News community by throwing up for grabs some of the hottest sneaker releases of the year. We started with the Air Max 90 Infrared, and even parted with some limited fare, like the Air Jordan III ‘Doernbecher’. For our most recent Sneaker News Giveaway, we decided to change things up a bit; instead of a sneaker release, we chose the Nike Air Max 1 iD, with the winner receiving his/her own design. The rules were just a tad different as well; we allowed just 100 entries, and the final winner decided by you. Last week, we unveiled the ten finalists for the Nike Air Max 1 iD Design Contest, and it was a sure and steady race all-around as there was no clear runaway favorite, and tonight, we are proud to announce the winner!
And the winner of the Sneaker News Air Max 1 iD Giveaway is…
Baldemar Gonzalez, and his Air Max 1 iD inspired by the CNCPTS x New Balance 999 ‘The Kennedy’. This design landed in first place with 27.22% of the all the votes. Baldemar, you will be contacted by Sneaker News through Facebook, so stay tuned!

First Runner Up: Mik Gococo and the Air Max 1 ‘Cowabunga’. Using the popular 90’s cartoon superheroes as the inspiration, this Air Max 1 iD was a big hit and landed in second place with 21.64% of the total vote.
–
Second Runner Up: Evan Holbort – Green/Black/Grey/Purple. Evan’s fresh new colorway didn’t need an outside source – it was conceived all on his own. Not to mention, it’s rather similar to first runner up’s ‘Cowabunga’ design! This Air Max 1 iD entry came in third place with 12.13% of the total vote.

Third Runner Up: Amim M. Hatta – ‘Mint Leaf’. Tonal colorways are never frowned upon, and Hatta transferred Ronnie Fieg’s ‘Mint Leaf’ Asics Gel Lyte III rather easily onto this Air Max 1. The ‘Mint Leaf’ Air Max 1 was the third runner up with 9.05% of the votes.
