The Air Jordan V retro releases of 2006/2007 included the funky ‘Green Bean’ colorway, which featured the full-3M reflective upper. The full-3M was never done before up until that point, which makes the Green Beans one of the most interesting Air Jordan Retro releases of all-time, but apparently it was, at one moment, dangerously close to being just another new colorway of an Air Jordan shoe. This unreleased sample version of the Air Jordan V ‘Green Bean’ features a full nubuck upper instead of the full-3M, with the reflective material located only on the customary tongue position. Perhaps Jordan Brand wanted to kick it up a notch for this release, a decision that was well-received by Air Jordan fans all-around. Fortunately, for those who might prefer the nubuck, the recently released ‘Wolf Grey’ Air Jordan V was a nice fill-in for that spot.
