Nike Vault in Los Angeles, CA opened its doors for the unveiling of the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1, Eric Koston’s first signature model with Nike Skateboarding since joining the team in mid-2009. Sneaker News has been providing details, colorways, and release info for the upcoming sneaker, but one recent report showed two funky-looking pairs of the SB Zoom Koston 1 that appeared to have a Kobe VI-inspired upper design. Turns out that Koston, an avid Laker fan, adopted the Kobe VI styling onto his signature shoe and came up with the Nike SB Kobe x Koston 1, which features the slithery Kobe VI upper with the LunarLon cushioned outsole. During the event, Koston spoke about his first signature shoe, his reason for using LunarLon, and the concept behind the Kobe VI-infusion, and a few lucky event-goers got a chance to walk away with a limited edition set, which was limited to twenty-four units. Continue reading for a nice recap of the event below courtesy of SlamxHype, and if you’re interested in buying one of the super-limited humidor box sets, check out the available listings on eBay.
