College basketball games tipping off at noon eastern is a pretty common phenomenon, but on a Wednesday?! Must be March Madness. Conference championship week marks the descent into a four week period where collegiate roundball takes center stage thanks to a tournament format that’s among the more popular gambling events not related to the gridiron. And we’d be willing to wager astute sneakerheads are familiar with the kicks you’ll see on Complex’s Top 25 Best Sneakers Worn in College Basketball History list, a compendium of undergrads overachieving with their footwear choices. Marc Ecko’s online mag does a solid job as usual, with picks ranging from the obvious like Mike Bibby’s OG Nike Air Foamposite One at Arizona in 1996 to the more obscure like Donovan McNabb (yes, that Donovan McNabb) in the Air Zoom Flight 95 the previous year. With the list entirely comprised of guys restricted from signing endorsement deals, you’ll see Mateen Cleaves in the Reebok Answer, Allen Iverson rocking the Air Jordan XI and Michael Jordan wearing the Converse Pro Leather(!). Click through to see a few choice selections and head over to Complex to see the list in full.
