Were we forced to omit the Sneaker News Top 30 due to conflicting interests, we’d have to place Complex.com at the top of the list of best sneaker lists. The online edition of Marc Ecko’s flagship mag has done it again, this time compiling a compendium of the 50 Greatest Skate Shoes ever produced. This inventory is an index of models as antique and obscure as the Vans Woodstock to modern classics like the Supra Skytop and Chad Muska’s own éS signature somewhere in between. It’s quite a sight to notice how far skate sneaker aesthetics have come, from ’70s and ’80s basketball sneakers to tech-happy ’90s looks and back again.
