Did Dr. Evil go to work for Jordan Brand after the Austin Powers trilogy came to a close? There’s no denying that shortly after 2002’s Goldmember, JB seemed to become fixated on ‘lasers’, and while there’s nothing resembling a shark reference in the intervening years, we do have some evidence that the Jumpman brand is connected to The Alan Parsons Project. All joking aside, it was Parsons’ prog-rock group that recorded the song ‘Sirius’ (better known as the Chicago Bulls’ entrance music) and that familiar tune serves as the background to this video depicting yet another surprise Air Jordan collaboration for NBA All-Star 2011. The Kayo x Jordan Brand skateboard decks weren’t laser etched, but rather hand-painted and then treated to a Jumpman applique on the bottom plus an elaborate ‘Flight’ graphic on the ‘flypside’. Blue and red decks were designed after the Air Jordan 2011’s signature ‘Quick/Explosive’ interchangeable cushioning system and you can see a black model go through its entire production process by clicking on the jump below.
