Nike Lunar Orbit Unveiled 08

Arriving in the Spring 2011 season is the Nike Lunar Orbit, a fresh new running shoe design with lifestyle roots dating back to the original Nike Tech Pack jackets. Designed by Nathan VanHook, who was also behind the pristine Aina Chukka design, the Lunar Orbit features a three-layer mesh on the upper, an asymmetrical zipper, and a raised geometric upper to optimize aerodynamics. The lifestyle angle is clear in this upcoming Nike Sportswear running shoe as the overall design features a minimalist’s approach, but that’s not saying that the Lunar Orbit is without detail; the lasered sock liner, welded bemis tape, as well as the GPS coordinates of Beaverton, OR etched alongisde the asymmetrical seam on the upper are just some of the details included in the Lunar Orbit design aesthetic. Take a detailed look at this upcoming Nike Sportswear release and let us know what you think of the design.
