2011 is shaping up to be the strongest year for Nike SB since the Swoosh skate division’s early collaborations and limited drops shook up the sneaker world in the early part of this century. We’re getting a redesigned Nike SB Dunk in a bunch of sweetly simple colorways, the upcoming Eric Koston pro model and now here’s our first look at the next shoe for perhaps the most successful SB rider. The Nike SB Paul Rodriquez series will continue next year when the Nike SB LunarLon P-Rod 5 begins to hit retailers.
Our first look at the Zoom P-Rod V reveals a TPU-reinforced suede lowtop design that borrows its heel counters form the P-Rod 4. The overall shape is similar to the Zoom P-Rod 4 as well, but these new joints opt for new-sew construction and a memory foam-enhanced sockliner for even better comfort. The LunarLon sole is light and responsive, which should give the improved DiamondFLEX sole the best boardfeel this side of a vulc sole.
