Late last month Sneaker News gave you a look at one of the most interesting basketball shoes ever created – the Li-Ning Yu Shuai V ‘Wooden Ox’. It’s a tribute to Chinese cultural roots, as the Wooden Ox was one of the original modes of transport in China, and while contemporary technology has rendered the wagon-on-wheels an obsolete form of engineering, all roots of transport are derived from that simple idea. Here’s a detailed look at the Li-Ning Yu Shuai V ‘Wooden Ox’; it features a recycled, environment friendly construction with the traditional Chinese characters on the heel, with a speckled midsole and a camel brown mesh layer underneath the “splints” on the upper. Li-Ning’s definitely on the basketball horizon with big-name American-born NBA players Baron Davis, Shaquille O’neal, and Evan Turner wearing Li-Ning and this interesting design is one to remember. You can see the Yu Shuai V on the feet of Jose Calderon of the Toronto Raptors but this Wooden Ox version has yet to see release. Check out the detailed images after the jump and let us know what you think. via Kenlu.
