Fakes are lame. On one hand, having counterfeit merchandise shows the success and profitability of an industry. Then again, any benefit from pirated goods prolongs development cycles and arguably sets our entire species back by reducing the incentive for innovation. US Department of Homeland Security officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized a number of domains over the weekend, ranging from P2P sites to a huge group offering bootleg clothes, DVDs and other goods. In total 82 sites got smacked-down, 12 of which belong to bogus shoe purveyors.
