Air Jordan 6 17 First Look 2

Yesterday, Sneaker News reported a preview of the Jordan Brand Spring 2011 Footwear collection. Among the confirmed releases of universally-loved Retros and the revelation of a Air Jordan x Air Max hybrid, the shoe that evoked the most curiosity was an Air Jordan hybrid that combined two Legacy models into one shoe. The first of such releases was confirmed to be the Air Jordan 6-17-23, and now we have a premature look at the first of a probable many hybrid Jordan shoes.

One quick look at the hybrid and you’ll notice that the Hybrid is more than just a mere sole-swap; it’s pretty much a completely redesigned shoe using elements of both the VI and XVII. The midsole features the translucent outsole combined with the midfoot plate while the upper is recognizably an Air Jordan VI but with a patent leather toe and a high tongue taken from the XVII. The ventilation holes taken from the Jazz-inspired Air Jordan XVII are also visible. This particular colorway of Black, Concord, Dark Grey, and Orion Blue is set for a March 2011 release so stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you on top of upcoming colorways and more hybrids. via NT.
