The Nike Hyperdunk debuted in 2008 as a Zoom-stacked, Flywire laden basketball shoe with a slimmed weight of just 13.0 ounces. For NBA players and even streetballers who run anywhere from 2 to 3 miles per game, the decrease in weight is a huge advantage and the conservation of energy results in a high level of performance for an extended period. Nike’s introduction of the Hyperdunk led to a wave of lighter-is-better basketball technology from brands other than Nike, but it was the originator who successfully followed up on the Hyperdunk.
Sneaker News previewed colorways of the Nike Hyperdunk 2010 but the product showcase from Wednesday’s Nike Fall 2010 Basketball focus featured ten gorgeous colorways of the highly anticipated sophomoric effort to the OG HD. The ten colorways featured outstanding textures like the faux-cracked marble upper from the Nike Zoom Kobe V to a lustrous material with can only be visually described as a mix of 3M and griptape. The Nike Hyperdunk 2010 is set to release at Nike Basketball retailers in the coming months so stay tuned to Sneaker News for new colorways and release information.
