The Secret Behind Nike Air

The Secret Behind Nike Air

Secret Behind Nike Air 1

Behind anything revolutionary lies a secret embedded deep within its roots, known only by those with the highest security clearance. Apparently David Koechner, bumbling comedian and now Nike representative, was given the credentials to dig deep into Nike’s vault and let the cat out of the (air)bag. The air in your Nike Airs is supplied by none other than Nike athletes; Troy Polamalu, Maria Sharapova, Paul Rodriguez, John McEnroe and the likes are given oxygen-harnessing contraptions that collect their exhalations (which, technically, is carbon dioxide). With their hemoglobin circulating at full speed, these top-tier Nike athletes pump out gold (in gas form).

The result? A warehouse full of captured Air into labeled compartments, stored for later use, pumped into full-length Air units. Koechner also unveils the Nike Air Attack Pack, brandishing some new colorways of the Nike Air Max 2009 and Nike Trainer SC 2010 while wearing a pair of the Air Attack Air Max 1 himself. Check out the video after the jump to get filled on the The Secret Behind Nike Air!
