Before we are fully committed to moving onto 2010, there’s just a few things to remember about 2009. One case being the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Though many sneakerhead’s are too young to understand the significance, it was a momentous event that exemplified overcoming adversity. Overkill previewed a collab with New Balance to create a Berlin Wall Pack. With no better creative group to manifest a commemoration through sneakers that some of Berlin’s own, the pack consists of three NB 577’s: black, red or blue.
Though they may seem like your run-of-the-mill New Balances you can find at any local sporting goods store, what sets these apart are its peripherals. Each color pair comes with a different set of insoles featuring graphics of the Wall’s history. Additonally, a special tongue label, hangtag and secret goodie will also be included. 577 pairs of each colorway will be released on January 9th at the Overkill shop, as well as shops like Undefeated, Colette, Hanon, Sneakersnstuff, 24 Kilates and Wood Wood. Stay tuned for any additional shops who will be releasing.
