Gabriel Dishaw – Nike Dunk + Terminator Sculptures

Wow, wow, wow!  After reviewing these images, I admitted to a fellow editor that I just didn’t know where to begin with these.  We’ve seen the ingenious work of customizers, like SBTG and Lazy, and even Dave White‘s sneaker-inspired art, but these masterpieces take it to a whole new level.  Artist Gabriel Dishaw, specializing in metal work, has fabricated a pair of Nike Dunks and Terminators.  The “Junk Dunks,” weighing in at 5 pounds, are composed of random everyday parts – sheets of metal, gears, wires and circuit boards.  For his second pair, the artist takes on the concept of Frankenstein, an idea fitting for these 8 pound cannibalized Terminators.  Taking over a month to fully manufacture, Dishaw “decided this time to do it right by making the entire package: from the shoes, to the shoe box, label, diagram and shoe tags.”  Take a look at the images and notice his full attention to detail, as he pays homage to some of his favorite inspirations.  Truly a master of his craft, connoisseurs of unique work can check out Gabriel Dishaw’s work at his site.
