Back in 2007, Nike created a Transformers edition of the Air Trainer III to coincide with the release of the first live-action movie, and while the shoe was relatively well-received, this sample version would have made them so much more legit. To the casual glance, this look-see sample is not all that different from the version that was released, but a closer look reveals one glaring difference. Apparently, when the shoe was originally designed, it featured a large Autobots logo on the tongue of the right shoe. Due to legal matters, Nike was forced to remove the logo before the shoe was released, but now this sample has surfaced to show us all what we missed out on. The good news is that if you are a size 9 and you’re ready to drop some dough on them, this sample pair is available now on eBay. If you’re into the Transformers and/or the Air Trainer III, you can check out some more images of this extremely rare sample version after the jump. Photos via Mental Therapy.
