Although Vans is widely known as one of the original ‘skate shoe’ companies, they also have a deep history in cycling stemming from BMX racing and Freestyle Biking. The Vans ‘Era’ and ‘Authentic’ models specifically have been a long time favorite of riders for decades. Paying homage to its role in the past, present, and future of Cycling, Vans releases their newest series of the classic sneakers to honor the sport. The ‘Fixed Gear’ Vans Eras and Authentic have bicycle cogs and chains featured on the infamous Vans heel tab, as well as the shoes insole. All of the shoes feature a canvas upper, with a re-enforced canvas rip stop material on the toe box to provide extra protection from bike pedal wear and tear. Each shoe rest on the classic Vans midsole, that is offset with a pinstripe and toe cap differing in color. The Eras have a bit of extra ankle protection in their padded collar, while the Authentics boast the additional styling of 3M piping. Available now at Standard and Dave’s Quality Meat.
