Chinese brand, Li Ning, has stormed onto the basketball footwear scene in the past couple of years signing a number of NBA athletes including the Phoenix Suns’, Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq has been wearing Li Ning for quite some time now and seems to have more models of shoes made for him than when he was signed to his own brand, Dunk.Net, if you can remember that disaster. Li Ning was also rumored to be in serious negotiations with Kobe Bryant this past Summer before he renewed his Nike contract. We can’t say we’re a fan of these, Li Ning Shaq All-Star’s, but it’s great to see healthy competition and growth from the smaller company’s that no one seems to care about until they start taking business away from the larger company’s. Don’t plan on picking up a pair of these unless you’re in China as there are no Li Ning retailers in the US, as far as we know. Photos by PM-Lab for Sneaker News
